Opening its doors in Minneapolis, Minnesota on April 1st, 1954, M. A. Mortenson Company
is a privately held corporation owned by the Mortenson family. At its inception,
founder M. A. Mortenson, Sr. established two objectives for the company’s
future: to sustain steady growth by increasing its revenue annually and to
strive to be profitable in every year of its existence. The hard work and long
hours expended in those early years paid off as the business thrived and as projects
grew progressively larger and more complex.
Today, led by M. A.
Mortenson, Jr., the company operates as a diversified construction organization,
offering customer-centric services in general contracting, construction management,
program management, design-build, project development, and “turn-key”
development.
